What Our Community Shares
The experiences of our community matter deeply to us.
Here are some of the words Autistic clients have shared about working with Thriving Autistic.
These are some reflections shared with us about feeling heard and supported.
“Thriving autistic supports ND youth and adults with multiple channels across the world and offers a variety of practitioners and safe spaces. It is the most exhaustive service for ND adults that I know in Europe. They have changed my life and impact many people positively.”
“Thriving Autistic are genuinely so helpful and provide amazing resources, community, and information for ND individuals!”
“Supportive, inclusive accommodating and welcoming, this organisation has helped me and countless others to feel a sense of belonging, community, understanding and acceptance. Thank you for making a difference and all you do.”
“After finding out I am autistic in the past couple of years, I have spent quite a bit of time trying to understand and accept the diagnosis. There has been a lot about it that has made sense for me but I felt like I was missing something, and since doing the Thriving Autistic Discovery Programme earlier this year, I’ve realized that some of what I had been missing was a sense of community and connecting over shared experiences, and the group was so helpful in allowing me to access that. It was a warm, welcoming space. I have also found the website to be a great source of information about available services and high quality resources, especially as it can be difficult to find collections of resources in one place.“
“Thriving Autistic provide a life raft… after years of struggling and being misunderstood. Burnout and broken. For me and many others, it is the first place that feels safe, and helps to guide the confusing but transformative experience of exploring a new autistic identity. I don’t know where I’d be without them…. but for decades I was barely surviving, now with the ongoing support, I feel hopeful that maybe I too, can learn to thrive, just as I am.“
“Thriving Autistic has been a space of authentic information, challenging harmful stereotypes and narratives while fostering inclusivity for the wide range of autistic community. Their work is both interesting, relevant and needed for individuals, families and professionals.“
